Alexandra Krasne started her career as a journalist in 1999 and gradually moved to non-profit organizations where she helped them use technology to meet their goals. And soon, she developed a passion for content marketing. Today Alexandra leads the content marketing team at GitHub in the capacity of the Director of Content Marketing and Strategy. 

The most important lesson I’ve learned? A successful content strategy is about creating value, not volume.

Over the last 10+ years as a leader and manager of high-performing content teams, she has continued to build impactful content programs and intelligently distribute them to the right audiences via the appropriate channels.

She has worked at creative agencies leading campaigns for technology and entertainment and has worked with leading brands like Cisco to establish new content and social programs, Twitter to lead their first B2B thought leadership program and global social and event strategy, at Indeed to build global content for events, campaigns and demand gen efforts, among others. 

Success in this field means telling compelling, engaging stories that resonate with the audience in the right medium at the right time and drive results for the business.

Content marketing journey

Alexandra has earned multiple platinum blogger awards while at Cisco. She launched and managed Cisco’s partner-facing Partner blog (a consistent top 5 blog), Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, SlideShare, Google+, and LinkedIn channels with year-over-year organic engagement and follower growth. 

Alexandra was responsible for developing the communications strategy and execution around the McAfee SecurityAlliance enablement program. She also created and led the social strategy for ADP AdvancedMD, resulting in a 77% engagement increase among medical professionals. 

At Twitter, Alexandra was instrumental in strategizing and implementing the brand’s first B2B thought leadership program while also leading global content and social strategy for global markets.
